Castalla provides its industrial estates with a bicycle lane, improved accessibility and signposting

• The project includes the environmental regeneration of green areas and the aim is to provide companies with a more competitive space
• The actions in the industrial areas have been carried out thanks to two grants from IVACE for a total value of 319,426 euros

Castalla has equipped its industrial estates with new infrastructures and services. The project consists of different actions for the industrial estates UA-1 and UZI-6 El Riu. The interventions in the industrial areas have been carried out thanks to two grants from the Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial (IVACE) of the Generalitat Valenciana. The grants for each of the industrial estates amount to 164,574.31 and 154,852.59 euros, respectively, making a total of 319,426.9 euros.

For their part, both the mayor of Castalla, Antonio Bernabeu, and the councillor for Industry, Noelia Álvarez, consider that “these investments allow us to improve the industrial areas of our city, which will have an impact on the competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses in Castalla”. In addition, the mayor continued, “we are improving circulation and access to the warehouses, in an environmentally friendly way, with the creation of a cycle lane and the extension of green areas”.

Specifically, the construction of a cycle lane has been carried out, which will form part of a larger one for the whole town centre; environmental and landscape regeneration, together with the improvement of the existing green areas; road improvement with the creation of pedestrian fords on the pavements to improve accessibility to the factories; paving, replacement of pavements and repair of kerbs; improvement of signage and identification of streets and industrial buildings and repainting of horizontal road signs.

The councillor for Town Planning, Raquel Guill, thanked “enormously for the subsidies that IVACE grants every year, as thanks to them, a notable change and improvement of these industrial estates in the city is being carried out”. In this sense, she added, “this year we have opted for the improvement of green areas, pedestrian accessibility, horizontal and vertical signage and the creation of a bike lane and a new parking area next to one of the local schools”.
