The Christmas Fair will fill the streets of Castalla with a festive atmosphere with the participation of the trade

The Christmas Fair 2022 of Castalla comes with the aim of filling the streets of the city with festive and Christmas atmosphere. Between Friday 16 and Sunday 18 December, the City Council has prepared a full program of activities, including dances, parades, workshops and an afternoon aimed at the youngest. All this with the aim of encouraging consumption in local commerce. The fair has been organized by the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Association of Commerce and Hospitality Castalla.

Thus, the Councillor for Tourism, Maite Gimeno, stressed that “the Christmas Fair Castalla is a date that have marked on the calendar all the establishments in our town, which is a unique opportunity to know our city in a Christmas atmosphere, typical of these dates”. According to the mayor, “from Castalla Tourism we have prepared a program of activities to ensure that the weekend is dynamic, with dances, parades, workshops and parades during the three days”.

As for the schedule of activities, the municipal proposal will begin the afternoon of Friday, December 16 with the opening of the Christmas Fair from 17:00 hours. At 18:45 hours will take place dance activities, music and dance in the Plaza de la Font Vella and the Festival of Light. Later, at 19:15 hours, the Banda Jove Santa Cecilia will be in charge of the parade.

The next day, the events will start at 10:00 am, when the fair will open again, and at 11:00 am will be held the traditional tambourine workshop. With the arrival of noon, the Christmas Fair 2022 will be officially inaugurated, with the participation of the municipal authorities. Then the show ‘El frío de Navidad’ will be performed in the Plaza de la Font Vella. At 12:30 pm, a procession of Disney characters will parade through the streets of the city, and they will do it again from 18:00 pm.

In the afternoon, the Casa de Cultura will host the board games and Christmas ornaments workshops, both between 17:00 and 20:00 hours. Another novelty is the evening with DJ that will bring the festive touch to the esplanade of the Casa de Cultura. An activity organized by the disco pub ‘Las Maldivas’ that will run from 16:00 to 21:00 hours. The dance will be the protagonist again at 19:00 pm in the Plaza de la Font Vella with the function ‘Christmas Time’.

The fair will conclude on Sunday 18, in which the opening will also be at 10:00 hours and will continue with another edition of the tambourine workshop at 11:00 hours. At 12:00 hours will be the time of the ‘Game of the Goose’, an activity for which you must register in advance at the Tourist Office. Half an hour later, the Font Vella square will again be the scene of the dance with the dance ‘Moments’. Once finished, the Disney characters will take the city of Castalla with a parade between 12:30 and 13:30 hours.

In addition, the Department of Youth has organized the virtual reality workshop ‘Hero Zone’ aimed at young people. The activity is free and will take place in the Espai Jove of the Casa de Cultura. It will take place at the following times: Saturday 17 from 10:00 to 13:30 hours and from 16:00 to 20:30 hours; and Sunday December 18 between 10:00 and 13:00 hours. Prior registration is mandatory for this workshop.

For his part, the mayor of Castalla, Antonio Bernabeu, has invited the local population and neighboring towns to “enjoy all the proposals we have prepared, as they are the perfect opportunity to see first hand the trade and hospitality of our city and impregnate us, at the same time, the Christmas atmosphere with family and friends to make the first purchases of the holidays”.
