Castalla presents the program to celebrate the 9th of October together with the local cultural and associative network

• The proposal for the Day of the Valencian Community recovers the giant paella, along with excursions, sports, workshops, concerts and music

The Castalla City Council has presented the program to celebrate the feast of October 9, Day of the Comunitat Valenciana. For this, the Consistory has the collaboration of numerous samples of the associative and cultural fabric of the town. Throughout the morning, the residents of the capital of La Foia will be able to participate in excursions, sports activities, workshops, concerts and music. To top it all, the City Council has recovered the giant paella, so that citizens can eat together in the municipal park.

The mayor castellut, Jesus Lopez, has indicated that “we have organized an October 9, the day of all Valencians and Valencian, with an interesting proposal of activities thanks to the collaboration of the rich fabric of associations and cultural that we have in Castalla”. In this sense, said the mayor, “during the day we will be able to see a representative sample of the traditions, culture and history of Castalla, which is very much alive and is a source of pride for us”.

As for programming, activities to celebrate October 9 in Castalla are as follows. At 9:30 am begins the day with a bike ride around the environment of the city. Between 11 and 13:00 hours will be the turn of workshops and activities for children and youth. At 11:00 am, turn for sport with the game of Pilota Valenciana in the main street. Later, at 12:00 pm, there will be a parade and concert by Cors i Danses and El Sogall. Finally, from 13:30 hours comes the main course, with the giant paella that will be cooked in the municipal park. To taste it must provide a donation of 3 euros, for the benefit of the association AFA Castalla and Onil. To liven up the meal there will be musical entertainment from 14:00 hours.

For his part, the Councillor for Culture, José Rico, has invited “the entire population to attend and celebrate in brotherhood on October 9, participate in various activities during the morning and end the day with paella, a typical tradition of Castalla that we have recovered, in the company of all the associative fabric of our city”.
