Castalla remembers the writer Enric Valor with the celebration of the 6th Fira de la Fantasia

Castalla celebrates the sixth edition of the Fira de la Fantasia, which deepens the links between the writer Enric Valor and the city where he was born. During the weekend of October 27 to 29, the imaginary of Valor vertebra the full program of activities, with concerts, literary routes, workshops, games and markets.
The initiative, which has already been consolidated in the city, is the result of collaboration between the Castalla City Council, the Enric Valor Chair and the Castellut Cultural Center. It also has the collaboration of the Coordinadora Alcoià i Comtat pel Valencià, Escola Valenciana, the Museu Etnològic Valencià (L’ETNO), the Municipal Library, the Agrupación Fotográfica de Castalla (AFC) and the newspaper Escaparate.
The mayor of the town, Jesús López, has invited to “visit the Fira de la Fantasia de Castalla, a unique opportunity to discover the literary world of Enric Valor and the relationship with the city where he was born, with lots of activities for the whole family”. For his part, the director of the Chair Enric Valor, Joan Borja, stressed “the collaboration between the institutions involved to publicize each year the legacy of Enric Valor, one of the most important Valencian writers, with an imaginary that is still very much alive and that we put in value throughout the weekend”.
As for programming, the proposals begin on Friday, October 27, with the awards ceremony of the Second Photographic Contest Espais Valorians, from 19:00 pm at the Casa de Cultura. This will be followed by a round table on the 40th anniversary of the work Temps de batuda, with the participation of Vicent Brotons, Enric Iborra, Assumpta Mira and Rosa Mira. At night, end of the day with the celebration of the ‘Festa Valor’ and a ‘Night of fear for the castle’, at 22:30 hours, by Blai Senabre and Jordi Raül Verdú.
The morning of Saturday October 28 starts at 9:30 am with the literary route through the ravine of the Fusta and Planisses, based on the novel Temps de batuda. Later, from 10:30 am, the Casa de Cultura hosts traditional games, children’s workshops and magic, with a performance by magician Joan Vidal. Saturday night contains the highlight of the program, with the performance in the Plaza Mayor of Pep Gimeno Botifarra, who will perform his album Ja ve l’aire.
Finally, Sunday October 29 will be the third day of the fair. At 12:00 pm, the main square will be the scene of the ‘Fantastic Book Fair’ and the ‘Fantasy Market’, with the performance of the colla El Sogall. And the little ones will also vibrate with the performance of Dani Miquel and the show Volem fantasies.
With this program, the Councillor for Culture, José Rico, has taken the opportunity to “encourage everyone to visit the Fira de la Fantasia de Castalla, as we have prepared activities for all audiences, young and old”. Thus, the mayor responsible for the exhibition has highlighted “the performances of Pep Gimeno Botifarra and Dani Miquel, who is already a regular at our fair, and that will make all attendees sing”.
