The Castalla Town Council organises its structure into five main areas of municipal management

  • The mayor’s office takes over Urbanism, Education and Festivities, and will distribute the main competences together with the four deputy mayors of the municipality

Castalla Town Council has reorganised its delegations, in accordance with the structure decided by the new mayor’s office, in the hands of Jesús López Blanco. Thus, the Consistory will be organised into five main areas, with the aim of optimising its functioning. The departments will be distributed among each of the nine councillors who make up the government team, which will have four mayoral offices, in accordance with the results of 28 May and the constitution of the Town Council on 17 June. All of this will be approved in a forthcoming plenary session.

Thus, the new municipal organisation is as follows: Town Planning, Education and Patron Saint Festivities; Internal Regime, Personnel, Contracting, Social Services, Public Safety, Environment and Youth; Culture, Historical Heritage, Commerce, Consumer Affairs, Tourism Promotion and Festivities; Finance, ADL, Industry, Health and Sports; and finally, Public Services, Works Brigade, Urban Maintenance and Bullfighting Festivities.

The Mayor, Jesús López, has taken over the direct management of the Town Planning, Education and Festivities areas.

The first deputy mayor, Magdalena Berenguer, will be in charge of Internal Regime, Personnel, Contracting, Social Services, Public Safety, Environment and Youth.

The second deputy mayor, José Rico, will be in charge of Culture, Historical Heritage, Commerce, Consumer Affairs, Tourism Promotion and Festivities.

The third deputy mayor, Raquel García, will be responsible for Finance, ADL, Industry, Health and Sports.

The fourth deputy mayor, Javier Sirvent, will be responsible for Public Services, Works Brigade, Urban Maintenance and Bullfighting Festivities.

The mayor has also appointed specific delegations for the other four councillors on the government team. Emilio José Bernabéu will be the councillor responsible for Town Planning and Industry; Judit Seva will be the councillor responsible for Youth, Education, Communication, New Technologies and Transparency; Mónica Verdú will be in charge of Tourism Promotion and Historical Heritage; and José Miguel Payá will be in charge of Sports.
