Castalla launches a municipal campaign to raise awareness of education and shared responsibility

• The #YoCoeduco initiative includes a workshop for local AMPAS and a street campaign to raise awareness

Castalla launches a municipal equality campaign for coeducation and co-responsibility. From the Department of Equality of the City of Castalla, along with the consultant EQUÀLITAT, participació i igualtat, framed in the Municipal Plan for Equality and subsidized by the Diputación Provincial de Alicante, has organized the campaign #YoCoeduco. The Councillor for Equality of Castalla, Maite Gimeno, said that “this is a step towards achieving real equality in our municipality, in this case, emphasizing the shared responsibility that we all have in our society in terms of education.

This is a dynamic initiative that consists of, on the one hand, a co-educational workshop aimed at the AMPAS of the municipality, in order to raise awareness among this sector of the population, which is closely linked to education, and to offer a variety of resources to transfer this knowledge and values to minors. On the other hand, a campaign has been organized on the street, which aims, through various dynamics and materials, to raise awareness and sensitize citizens of the importance of these values, both for children, as for the general population.

Therefore, next Tuesday, September 8, 2020, professionals from the consultancy EQUÀLITAT, from 10:00 to 13:00 hours, will be at the entrance of the local market offering information, and providing various materials on equality and co-education, aimed at neighbors of Castalla.

The mayor of Equality has stated that “making visible the existing inequalities is important and a first step to be able to solve them later”. In this sense, Maite Gimeno has reported that the activities planned within the Equality Plan will continue to be carried out both for the Castilian associative network and for the staff of the council itself.
