The Town Council and Caritas organise material for the victims of the Ukraine in a Castalla building

Those interested can go to calle Azorín, number 16, and make the delivery there and the Consistory will take it all to a common point

The Castalla Town Hall has set up a place as a reference point for the collection of material. From this place all the aid for the victims of the war in Ukraine will be organised. Those interested in participating can find the location in calle Azorín number 16, next to the Caixa Bank office. Through this location, the Consistory and Caritas channel the work of volunteers and the contribution of material for the Ukrainian people.

The mayor of Castalla, Antonio Bernabeu, stressed “the solidarity of our people with the people who are suffering in their flesh the war in Ukraine. It is up to us at the Town Hall to organise aid together with the other institutions and associations determined to collaborate so that it is effective and reaches those who need it most”.

The residents of Castalla who want to help as volunteers can register in two ways. On the one hand, through the link published on the social networks of the City Council. On the other hand, they can do it in person at the headquarters of Social Services in the town, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.

In addition, the City Council is working to manage the collection of humanitarian material to help the victims of the war that Ukraine has been experiencing for a few weeks. For their part, the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) and the Generalitat Valenciana have indicated the needs of the Ukrainian population, with all the details in terms of health, textile, hygiene, shelter and food material. In this way, the public knows which contributions are most useful at the moment.

According to the councillor for Social Services, Maite Gimeno, “according to the information we have, the items that can help the most right now are basic products and foodstuffs, as well as first aid”.

The Generalitat Valenciana is also regulating the reception of refugees from Ukraine in Spain. This procedure will be channelled through the international protection reception system regulated by the public administration.
