The ‘Bono Consumo 2023’ campaign will inject more than 300,000 euros into Castalla’s local commerce

• Citizens can purchase vouchers of 100, 200 and 400 euros to support local establishments with their purchases
• Shops interested in participating can sign up to the initiative until 15 September via the municipal website

Castalla Town Council has launched the ‘Bono Consumo 2023’ campaign to support local commerce. The aim of the initiative is to help establishments and citizens to encourage shopping in the town’s shops through the purchase and use of these vouchers. As a novelty, this year the initiative includes the entire hotel and catering trade among the businesses that can participate.

The mayor of Castalla, Jesús López, stressed that “from the City Council we stand by the side of local businesses. With the Bonos Consumo 2023 campaign we are helping both the establishments and our neighbours to make their purchases in the town to strengthen Castalla’s economy and encourage consumption”.

The initiative has a grant of 164,741 euros from the Diputación de Alicante. This means an injection into the Castalla economy of at least 329,482 euros, as the people who buy the vouchers must contribute half the amount. Thus, there will be cards of 100 euros (contribution of 50 euros), 200 euros (contribution of 100 euros) and 400 euros (contribution of 200 euros). And all of this will have a direct impact on local businesses. These vouchers can be purchased by anyone over 18 years old and registered in Castalla. Each of them will be able to purchase one voucher of each type.

Shops and establishments willing to participate in the ‘Bonos Consumo 2023’ can already sign up and have until Friday 15 September to join. They must access the electronic headquarters of the Town Hall and fill in the form for this specific procedure.

Likewise, the councillor for Commerce, José Rico, recalled how the use of these vouchers works, similar to how it has been done in previous years. The councillor reported that “we will open an application period for consumers (which will be shortly) once all the participating businesses are known, and then credit cards will be issued”. In this way, Rico hopes that the Bono Consumo 2023 campaign will be “a success and will give citizens and businesses in our town a boost for shopping in the coming months, so necessary after the summer and before Christmas”.
